Angela Evelyn Bassett is an American actor from the United States. Her work has been recognized for television and in film from the mid-80s onwards, she's won numerous awards like two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett originates born in New York New York. She was born in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett, her sister and their mother relocated to St. Petersburg Florida when Bassett was 5 years old. Their father had divorced their mother. Bassett, while in high-school, saw John Steinbeck's play Of Mice and Men with James Earl Jones and she decided to become an actress. When she graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut in the year 1980, she earned the Bachelor's degree in African American Studies, she continued to pursue an MA (1983) at the Yale School of Drama. In 1997, she got married to Courtney B. Vance who was also an actor. Qualification: B.A. graduated from the Yale School of Drama School with a master's in African American studies, in 1980.
